Webinar: MassHealth Renewals and Available Resources for Massachusetts Employers

Loading Events

Are you an employer with employees who may currently be enrolled in MassHealth coverage? Did you know that since April 2023, MassHealth has been redetermining the eligibility of approximately 2.4 million members? As an employer, what do you need to know?

About this Event

In April 2023, the federal government ended certain COVID-related Medicaid protections. As a result, MassHealth has resumed many normal processes, including redetermining members’ eligibility on an annual basis. Through redeterminations, some individuals will be found ineligible for MassHealth and will need new health insurance. Many of those individuals may be employees who need coverage through their employer’s plan, or support obtaining new coverage elsewhere.

  • In April 2023, MassHealth restarted annual processes to redetermine members’ eligibility, per federal rules. Following their eligibility redetermination, some Massachusetts individuals and families may no longer qualify for MassHealth coverage and need to find new health insurance.
  • Massachusetts requires everyone to have health insurance or face a tax penalty if someone doesn’t have coverage.
  • Employers are being asked to help Massachusetts maintain its near-universal health insurance rate by connecting employees losing MassHealth coverage to new health coverage.

Join us for an upcoming webinar where staff from MassHealth and the Health Connector will explain the MassHealth redetermination process and health coverage options through the state’s Marketplace – the Massachusetts Health Connector – for those employees who may not be eligible for employer benefits.

This webinar will provide general information on MassHealth and Massachusetts Health Connector coverage and other topics, but they will not be able to help anyone with their specific health coverage questions.
