National Health Care Reform
In March 2010, President Obama signed into law the Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (ACA). The ACA will ensure that all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care and will transform the health care system to improve care and contain costs and promote transparency and competition in the market.
Massachusetts: Leading the Way
Massachusetts led the nation in 2006 by initiating comprehensive health reform. The state established the Massachusetts Health Connector, a Marketplace designed to make affordable health insurance available to more people. Massachusetts continues to have the highest rate of health insurance coverage in the nation.
