Making Payments to the Health Connector

Premium payments for individual and family health and dental plans are due the 23rd of the month before coverage effective date.

Important: If you purchased both a health and a dental plan, each plan’s premium must be paid separately.

There are 4 ways to pay:

Make an Online Payment Now

The quickest way to make a payment to the Health Connector is through our online payment portal at payment.mahealthconnector.org.

To make an online payment, you will need:

  • An identifying number that can either be your Enrollment ID number, Billing Account Number, or Social Security Number (if you have one and used it when you applied)
  • Information that you used in your application, like your name, date of birth, and mailing address.
  • The account number and routing number from your checking or savings account. Please remember to have a check with you or your bank account wallet card that has your account number and routing number on it.
  • You can choose to make either a one-time payment, or sign up for recurring payments that will automatically be withdrawn from your checking or savings account day after your information is processed for the first payment and on the 22nd of each month after that.

Mail Your Payment

You will get an invoice within 3–5 business days after you choose your plan and can mail a check or money order for the full amount of your premium payment to the Health Connector, or bring it in-person to one of our walk-in centers.

Making a same-day or next-day delivery?

If you are mailing a payment using a next- or same-day delivery service, payments should be mailed to MA Health Connector, 133 Portland Street, 1st Floor, Boston, MA 02114.

Use Your Bank’s Online Bill Payment System

You can pay your premium using your bank’s online bill pay.

  • Follow your bank’s instructions for setting up the online payment.
  • Search for and select MA Health Connector.
  • Make sure the address is
    P.O. Box 970063
    Boston, MA
    02297-0063.
  • Be sure to include your 9 digit account number beginning with 7. You can find your account number in the top left hand corner of your Health Connector insurance bill. You can also call the Member Service Center to get your account number.
  • When using this option, set the payment date to 3-5 days before your Health Connector payment is due, which is always on the 23rd day of the month.

Did you just shop for a plan? Your enrollment is not complete until you make your first payment

Please note you will not be enrolled in your health or dental plan until you pay the first month’s premium in full by the due date.

Once you make your first payment, it will take about five business days before your insurance carrier will be able to confirm your enrollment. Once your enrollment is confirmed, you will receive a Welcome Letter from the Health Connector. Your insurance carrier will send you an ID card within approximately 2 weeks after the Health Connector receives your full payment.

If you are applying and enrolling in a Health Connector or ConnectorCare plan for the first time, your enrollment isn't finished until you checkout your plan and make your first premium payment for your coverage by the due date. If you miss this deadline, the earliest date your coverage could start is the first day of the following month.
