Health Connector Preferred and Nonpreferred Payment Methods
Summary:
- The Health Connector offers four preferred payment methods above: online payments, phone payments, mail payments, and in-person at a Walk-in Center.
- Examples of nonpreferred, third-party payment methods include Bill Pay through your bank/credit union; Mint bills (acquired by Intuit); DOXO; Prism or other personal banking bill payment sites; and My CheckFree.
- Third-party payment methods are discouraged as the Health Connector cannot help resolve any issues with these services if they arise.
The best way to pay your Health Connector bill is by using a payment method offered by the Health Connector. Our four preferred payment methods are:
- Online payment through the Health Connector’s member portal and guest payment system.
- Payments by phone by calling 1-877-MA-ENROLL
- Payment by mail to the address included on your bill.
- In-person at a Health Connector Walk-in Center in Boston, Springfield, or Worcester.
When you use a non-preferred payment method, if there is an issue with a payment, you would need to resolve it with the bank or third-party site.
Examples of nonpreferred third-party payment methods may include:
- Bill Pay through your bank/credit union
- Mint bills (acquired by Intuit)
- DOXO
- Prism or other personal banking bill payment sites
- My CheckFree
These methods are NOT the best way to pay and are discouraged. This is because if there are any issues with a third-party service, the Health Connector cannot help resolve them, and payment would still be required.

Your enrollment is not complete until you make your first payment
Please note you will not be enrolled in your health or dental plan until you pay the first month’s premium in full by the due date.
Once you make your first payment, it will take about five business days before your insurance carrier will be able to confirm your enrollment. Once your enrollment is confirmed, you will receive a Welcome Letter from the Health Connector. Your insurance carrier will send you an ID card within approximately 2 weeks after the Health Connector receives your full payment.
