Tax tools you may need to help file your income taxes

The Health Connector has tools, below, to figure out your Premium Tax Credit.

Second Lowest Cost Silver Plan (SLCSP) Calculator

If you enrolled in a plan through the Health Connector, you may be eligible for a tax credit based on your income and family size to help lower the cost of your premiums. The amount of your tax credit is calculated using the premium of the second lowest cost plan in the Silver category that was available to you in during the calendar year.

Why you may need to use this tool

Most people will find their Second Lowest Cost Silver Plan (SLCSP) premium on their Form 1095-A that is mailed by the Health Connector to members. You will not get Form 1095-A unless you or someone in your household was enrolled in coverage through the Health Connector—such as a Health Connector or ConnectorCare plan—for all or part of the year.

If the SLCSP information isn’t on that form, or if it’s not updated, you may need to use this tool to fill out IRS Form 8962 to calculate your Premium Tax Credit when you file your taxes.
